The seals did not seem at all bothered but they did look up when they started performing controlled explosions on the unexploded bombs. The wardens are very knowledgeable and friendly and I would like to say a big thank you for the use of their shed during one of the many downpours. I would advise anyone who can to go - it is a truly impressive experience. I would repeat the advice above though: - get there early and take plenty of warm clothing. I was wearing silk gloves under fleece gloves with windproof gortex gloves on top and my hands were still feeling the cold. It is also useful to know there are some portaloos in the overflow car park.
I did get some pictures but I have not really had time to look at them (they are still in the camera) but I will post any good ones once I get a chance.
Thank you for all your advice, have a good trip if you are planning to go,
Molly | Nice to hear that Molly - I did wonder if you had got there? We are looking at the 9th December before we are free and wondering whether they will allow beach access then? Glad you enjoyed - its quite something isn't it to be so close to something wild........

Thanks for any help
Molly | Visited on Sunday 7th November - it was well worth it, you can get so close to the seals. There are pups being born every day. One tiny pup and mum were lying right by the fenceline two feet away and we could get amazing pictures. Take binoculars anyway as seals are spread out right down to the shoreline. Parking was no problem and if busy its just £1 in a field right by the sand dunes. Theres a local pub The Bay Horse with open fires and food in the village. Wrap up warm as it can be windy and cold. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did. |

Ta for the info, Chrissy and welcome to WAB.
I've been meaning to go and have a look at the seals at DN for a few years and was wondering if there was anything to see yet! Now all I need is for this awful weather to improve.
