As soon as i saw that shot in the magazine I said to my son I bet Wolfhill has taken that one....and he did!
A really great shot Fergus, you can be justifiably proud of your achievements, I look forward to seeing many more of your shots.

And here I come late - last to the comments as usual - sorry Fergus - but didn't I say way back that you were headed for a future in wildlife photography if that's what you choose to do - and this is the way to do it - I know quite a few folk who have won competitions and haven't looked back... hope you're going to be one of them!! Well Done!

I was just browsing the Wildlife Photographer of the Year pages on the Natural History Museum website and came across some photos of the awards dinner held last October. Wildlife Photographer of the Year - Events
First pic in the second row is Fergus receiving his award from Mark Cawardine. It looks like it was a fantastic event!
