| | | Garden Photographer of teh Year Spotted in the October edition of Practical Photography, this competition is now open and entries have to be in by 31 January 2008. One of the categories is "Life in the Garden".
Full details can be found at Garden Photographer of the Year - Competition categories but in a nutshell it cost £10 to enter up to 4 images in a single category or £20 to enter a portfolio of 6 themed images.

Thanks for the vote BWD! I don't think I'll be completely wasting my time by entering some shots but I'm very conscious of the standard of the competition. I won't mention any names but there are quite a few WAB contributors I wouldn't want to go head to head with!

Dave P. | We're all in with a chance Dave - it's down to the judges mood at the end of the day
I studied photography at college (I got an A at GSCE level) and I was a member of a local camera club, so I have some experience. I've also seen photographs on display at exhibitions (one in London springs to mind, think it was at the Natural History Museum) and they would not have done well in locally-judged competitions that I took part in.
So go for it! Lets see if we can get some WAB pics up there |

| | | Re: Garden Photographer of teh Year Unfortunately photography is a very subjective matter. Before entering any competition it is necessary to know who the judges are, if you want to be in with a chance.

| | Re: Garden Photographer of teh Year Hey! I'm new here - I'm involved with the GPOTY competition (I'm not a judge tho!). Great to see a number of you are interested. Many WAB members have some stunning images that I feel should be entered.
Have you heard about the prizes?!
There's a main cash prizes of £5000 for Best Single Image and £5000* (includes £2000 Calumet vouchers), for The Best Portfolio, there is now a generous range of more than £10,000 worth of vouchers for products from Manfrotto, Kata, and Visible Dust.
