| | | Plans for 2006 Does anyone have any plans for subjects they'd like to photograph this year?
Mine are:
Puffins on Skomer again - try to get some good shots this time.
Harbour Porpoise - on the surface Adders and Grass Snakes - tried last year with limited success
Cod, dover sole and skate - all underwater
Mitten crabs - which are eating away at the Thames seabed apparently
What's everyone else planning? |

| | | Re: Plans for 2006 Every year I photograph our 6 reptiles , i'll surely be doing the same again. I'd also like to photograph our alien species the green Lizard and the wall lizards.
In June we're off to Turkey so i'll be photographing Agama lizards, Whip snakes and hopefully the Ottoman Viper and nose horned Viper. There will be Green Treefrogs and maybe some terrapins too , not forgeting the bird species.
Back in UK i'd like to capture Fox, Deer, buzzards , tawny owls and barn owls.
Then... And please do not think, "eeeew listen to him" as we've saved hard for this and I gave up smoking to raise funds for a holiday in Tobago! . There I will Photograph Amieva Ground Lizards , Geckos, Green Iguana , Caiman and A variety of snakes including Boa Constrictors.
The Bird life is stunning too including , Mot mots, Bananaquits, Grackles, Parrots, pelican , osprey, tanagers, and hummers
I'm really excited about this year , the camera's going to take a beating for sure.

| | | Re: Plans for 2006 Apart from yet more photos of birds, I would really like to get some good photos of Otter and Pine Marten in the Scottish Highlands in June. I am also planning to visit the Farne Islands again after many years for all the different seabirds.
And I am on the point of purchasing a macro lens to kick off my photography of butterflies and dragonflies this spring/summer. This will be a whole new area of wildlife identification and photoography for me which I am really lokking forward to. Anyone know any good sites in Essex for butterflies and dragonflies?

| | | Re: Plans for 2006 No, If I can afford it I plan to go with Wild Arena for the bears, then go on to the ospreys as a solo venture. On the affordability front the good news was that I found a decent deal on a 20D and went with that instead saving myself a decent wedge. Trouble was that I then put a f2.8 300mm Prime on my credit card, ooooh welll.
Scotland will also be a self organised jaunt, though I may make use of the rothiemurcus estate wildlife watching services while I am up there (definitely checking out the highland wildlife park again as well, want to get pics of wolves in the snow). If anyone knows other locations in the cairgorm area I would love to hear about them. |

It's in a custom built hide near Rothiemurcus - well worth a trip. The Wildlife Park's always worth visiting. They feed the wolves about 1pm, so best to get there before then, as they're more active in anticipation of their meal! |
