| | | Camping with cameras Whenever I go camping the tent seems to suffer from condensation. If this is the case what is the likely danger to a camera, and what would be the best way to safeguard it?

| | | Re: Camping with cameras Yeah I know the stuff. I get it with my trainers. Can you buy it?
Also just put the silica gel in the vacinity of the camera. i.e in the camera bag?

| | | Re: Camping with cameras As it's the lenses that usually steam up. Your best bet - especially in cold weather, is to leave the lenses in the car or somewhere cool so they don't get warm. As it's when you take them outside from the warm into the cold that you get the condensation inside them. Although this probably referes more to older lenses I would guess. |

Remember Boddie you put the silica gel in the oven NOT the camera!

| | Yep, may have to consider a camoflaged camera bag as won't be anywhere near my car, then I can hide the camera near to the tent, bivi or whatever.
That sounds like a plan Quote: |

You seem to be implying that I am stupid.
But pray tell, where will I find an oven up a mountain in Wales?

| | | Re: Camping with cameras What about one of those large Ziploc re-sealable freezer bags, dry out the dessicant and then keep the camera with the dessicant in a bag. Squeeze the bag down and it will last longer as there will be less air to dry. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
