| | | barn owl photos hi all,
just thought i'd share these pics with you, i know there not the best pics but it was quite an experience being in the presence of such a magnificent bird which came and checked me out quite a few times and didn't seem to mind me being there.
i take it she lives in this hole.
just a shame i missed the wing tips in this shot.

| | | Re: barn owl photos Nice shots, especially the first one - lovely facial expression.
I assume this might be a nest site - is it an old Barn?

| | | Re: barn owl photos Well I think they are excellent photos Brian. We don't see that many Ban Owl photos on here. Love the first one in the wall and never mind about missing the wing tips in photo 2 it's still a great shot. Well done and thanks for sharing your experience with us

BTW nice part of the world you live in.

| | | Re: barn owl photos They are lovely photos. I would love to have the opportunity to photograph a barn owl in the wild - such beautiful birds. Majestic is the word I would use.

| | | Re: barn owl photos lovely pics true enough, just go really careful though perhaps don't go back too often, barn owls are protected from disturbance at the nest site try to make it that they don't notice you at all, a family of barn owls may need 30 voles a day any reduction in this amount - perhaps because a bird is nervous of flying near you, might impact on the owlets so it is actually an important piece of legislation.
Of course this might just be a roost spot but better safe than sorry |

The only Barn Owls I get to photo are at Raptor or Owl centres. I would love to photograph one in the wild.

| | | Re: barn owl photos Beautiful images Brian - lucky you and well done! I have only ever seen one Barn Owl in the wild - It was high in a tree and I had to crop the photo as much as poss' to be able to see it, it made my day though. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
