| | | Support your local photographer! With 6000 images (Thanks Digi, Klewis and Glsammy!) it's difficult keeping up, but I try my best to view and comment on as many photos as possible. Some are amazing, and I'm surprised that certain people don't solicit their shots at magazines and get some well deserved dosh!
But I get upset when I see a shot that has inspired 30+ hits, but not one comment. I'm no technical expert, nor am I a wildlife expert, but will always try to say something about peoples photos, because I feel that showing others that their work and patience has moved me, is a big part of keeping a community like this going.
Come on folks, keep the inspiration going!
I'll get off my soapbox now |

| | | Re: Support your local photographer! thanks Carl. but I'm a real newbie here. I'm sure that there are dozens of members that have contributed considerably more than I have. Just take a look at the forum threads as well, the mods are always around to provide support and guidance. Without them you don't have a website |

| | | Re: Support your local photographer! Kev, have spotted your name on loads of comments, and t'other kev too. I'm just afraid that people may feel scared to comment and any encouragement helps to get them out taking more photos. All those views and not a cheep can be disheartening. Hope I'm not talking out of place here, but I've fallen in love with this site, and hate to see anybody disappointed.
I'll get my coat hey.... |

May sound strange but I don't have time to comment as I simply want to view more photos, but I do appreciate them all the same. For me no photo is a bad photo so I would have to say they are all great. I don't post my photos for comments. At the end of the day this isn't a photography website and there should not be any committment to comment.
Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate all of the photos but maybe it can be a bit daunting for those not so experienced in photography, if they feel their photos may be open to criticism?

Surely beauty is in the eye of the beholder? | I quite agree - this is not a photography site and comments I make are about the subject, not the technique - even though the techniques on show are amazing. I'm looking more at the community perspective and encourage people to take part. And I've yet to see a negative comment (best left for photographic sites!).
Boy, I never shy from controversy lol |

In fact the editors do do a lot of such comment and I would have thought it very bad luck to have 30 views (for a recent pic; before the last major change around Christmas the site was open to non-registered viewwers and views must include some googlers) without a comment
