However, there are a lot of limitations - it is not always triggered by small (or slow) animals. Squirrels and rabbits sometimes trigger it but mostly it has to be something bigger. If the quality of the images is important then you would be better buying something else - the camera is very basic.
It is a very useful device for finding out what animals are around but it is very hit and miss. I have had a lot of success because the deer and badgers are attracted by the apple trees so I know where to position the camera. It could be a bit like a needle in a haystack if you don't know where they are likely to be.

| | | Re: Stealthcam I wouldn't worry too much about using flash for badgers if you do manage to pull an all nighter Jenny! Badgers don't react overly to flashes of light - in fact they get used to it but you do have to get their heads down first and into a pile of peanuts! We find they are more disturbed by the loud shutter on the EOS 20D than the flashes going off!
Thanks for a smashing thread by the way!

| | | Re: Stealthcam Superb photos, Jenny.
I've a little IR camera kicking round here somewhere that was doing sentry duty on some mousetraps but I think I'll move it outside now that my rodent squatters are gone. | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
