| | | Sigma 175-500 Here's a sample taken with 'The poor mans birding lens'. (Sigma 175-500)
I'm happy with it. I read lots of criticism about it, but if you're on a tight budget, you can get superb results (in my opinion). I've only just aquired it ( e-bay £330). I have lots of other cracking pics ( in my opinion).
The lens was opened up to 400mm, after 450mm the sharpness 'falls off'.
Now lets have your opinion - no holds barred - we won't fall out !!!!

| | | Re: Sigma 175-500 ive used a little bigma fortwo years and agree that it the best of the budget long lenses - however two years on semi pro use have virtually killed it and its replacement will not be more of the same as best of budget is one thing but top of the line is another entirely , my next lens will either be a pump (canon 100-400) or a sigma 120-300 f2.8 (and matched 2xtc)
also one point is that little bigma works well on cropped sensors cos most of the abberations and defects are at the edge - however use in on a full frame camera and its performance is significantly les impressive
