| | | Camera Shops Which camera shops do you use or are there any camera shops that you'd recommend. I use Misfuds as it very local for me. Can you recommend any internet sites for equipment, especially lenses and what about ebay?
Its always nice to know about good companies that people use regularly.
A lens I am interested in is about £50 - £75 cheaper on ebay, but I am unsure about spending a lot of money on there. |

| | | Re: Where do you buy your equipment? I use Mifsuds as well, but for items I don't need to see first, I often buy from warehouseexpress.com. They tend to be the cheapest and have a very wide range - but check that they have any expensive items in stock first before ordering, as some items have a long wait (eg some lenses). The trouble with ebay, is that you are not always sure that the items are genuine uK and not imports from the far east. Having said that, Calumet is good for second hand. |

I've used them three times now, saved a huge amount of money and everything worked out well.
I bought my Sigma 50-500mm from them through ebay, as well as a Canon 400D for my son in law. I can highly recommend them.

| | | Re: Where do you buy your equipment? I would prefer to buy from Harrisons in Sheffield when I can't I go on line - I've had good deals with Pixmania amongst others. E-Bay is such a sprawl of opportunities - a very few people have had problems with it, most of us have had none. As has been said - check the descriptions very carefully, just because something's from HK or Korea doesn't mean it will be rubbish but if you've misinterpreted their description, you'll have a heck of a job getting your money back!
Good luck! |

| | | Re: Where do you buy your equipment? ive used a company called one stop digital a couple of times, and they have been great, around 3 days delivery time from hong kong, and good prices too. I think delivery is free aswell, but i cant remember off the top of my head. They will also reimburse you any import costs or VAT you have to pay which is great although ive not had this problem myself. the site adress is Onestop Digital |

| | | Re: Where do you buy your equipment? for expensive kit i tend to buy from an ebay trader although i generally deal with him direct to get an even keener price
for less expensive items i either buy online from whoever is cheapest or if its something i want to handle i go to T4 camera in Witney. Second hand stuff comes either from T4 or from camtech near Cottenham in cambs - or off ebay as the situation requires
