| | | Re: photographing british animals? For deer your best off getting to Lyme Park in Disley, Cheshire (not too far from Crewe if your driving/train), they have a huge parkland with fallow and red deer, plus owls and other typical birds, often see various cattle like cumbrian long haired too! |

I'm quite proud of my Gallery submission so far but have realised there are no mammals in there. That's my next task, although I could send pictures of my dogs and guinea pigs up as forum images   .
I spend ages in one area, like when photographing Adders, they're so good at hiding but my patience always pays off.

I know a place with adders - just want to see them! | dawn or soon after on clear days - you want to get them while they are still sluggish from the cold of the evening and basking to warm up - also be aware that they can feel the vibrations of your walking towards them, through the ground so those will adelicate fairy like tread will stand a better chance of seeing them than those with a gallumphing elephantine gait

| | | Re: photographing british animals? You did well to get any photos, in bad weather at Formby. It can be quite dark at the best of times under the trees there. The fox usually appears on the path opposite the squirrel walk (on the other side of the road/car park).
