I have a Bigma and use mainly Handheld

Just interrested to see who has one and what the preffered method of use is

I have one but I haven't steady enough hands to use it hand held. Tripod always with mine.

i have the baby brother little bigma 170-500mm and generally use it hand held but restingon something if i'm using the fat end - this rest can be a tree , a wall , the top of the car or even boddie if he stands still for long enough

I only use the tripod for long exposures, or if i'm using the TC

Either handheld or monopod.

Must admit my keeper rate is low hand held. Think I will give a mono pod a try, see if I can improve my keeper rate

I tend to use a tripod for all Bigma use now. My hand held efforts were too inconsistent.

I also tried using a monopod ... but kept falling over ... I just can't get to grips with these I'm afraid even after watching Graham use it so naturally.

mostly handheld for me ie on way to work etc . guess ive steady hands. though my latest gsw pics were with tripod as i had such a sore neck from the time before. but between tri & mono the latter would win every time ....gez

My keeper rate is low on a tripod I borrowed a gitzo and the reults were good but I like using my trekker but could do with some advice as to which head to put on it as the standard doesn't appear to be up to the job or maybe it's just me

Because most of my photography is done from my garden hide, I use a hide clamp. I would be totally lost without it.
If hand held, I am unable to hold the bigma steady when at full zoom. When I am out and about I use my tripod
