| | | Lenses Thank you so much for your advice on digital slr cameras. Think I've decided on the canon 400d .Seems warehouse express and and Jessops are the same price if you buy on the internet. Now I'd like to ask advice about zoom lenses to use on the canon 400d. Would I get anything decent around £200-£300 mark. I've noticed sigma and tamron have some budget priced lenses. Are these any good? I suppose for my price range i would be looking at 200-300mm?
Thanks again.

| | | Re: Lenses Hi, we aquired a Sigma 135-400 4.5 Dg APO for just on £300 delivered from this guy: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/UR-Galaxy-L...to-Electronics
buying from Hong Kong looked like a risk, but he was 100% reliable and it arrived within about 3 working days. Huge saving over the UK price and the lens is very good value for money. The extra focal length makes a big difference and it isn't being asked to cover a huge zoom range. They also have a big selection of Canon and Tokina stuff at good savings. |

Have to agree if you don't mind the fact it's not UK sorced. I got my Bigma from them saved £200 on UK price and came in 4 days from day of purchase... |

| | | Re: Lenses Sigma lenses are generally excellent. Can I recommend you check prices with Bristol Cameras? I have bought loads of lenses and other gear from them and they are usually cheaper than the other places and their service, including returns, is second to none in my opinion.
When buying a lens, you might be able to negotiate a body/lens package; consider a macro lens if you want to photograph little beasties. I bought a Sigma 50mm Macro and I'm going to add either a 105mm or 150mm Macro when I can afford it! My 50-500mm Sigma zoom is excelent but not very portable.
Also: it's well worth spending as much as you can afford on a decent tripod - the heavier the better. A decent lens is still next to useless on a lightweight mount.
Cheers. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
