All this talk of the pump sucking in air and the second Bigma user cites excessive dust.
You need to talk to glsammy mate as he has found the same problem and has disassembled his to clean it out

| | | Re: Dust in my lens. Just goes to show you can't believe all you hear. When I bought the Bigma I was told one of it's advantages was that it didn't suck dust in like the 100-400. WRONG!!
I'll contact you by PM Gez with the details. |

I'll contact you by PM Gez with the details. | Mine has dust in as well but not bad enough it seems as yet to affect the photo quality. Haven't been brave enough to attempt dissasembling it yet but it's on the cards sometime in the future.

I've done mine twice now Roger, if your not sure exactly what to do, I'll send you details when you need them. It's not difficult, the first time I must have been on something or I was just plain daft to try, but what the heck, it worked! |

First I broke my new tripod. I shorn off the thread at the top where it attached to the tripod head, when I was tightening the allen keys. So that is going to have to go back. Then my PC is playing me up. Not having a good day

Not having a good day | yep somedays it just isnt worth getting out of bed - i had one of those last saturday when everything that could go wrong did , culminating in a sheared drive in the pto of our brand new two wheel tractor, (incidentally BSG mower suppliers were very good, came out the next working day with a replacement)
you've obviously accumulated some bad karma somewhere , you havent been thinking impure thoughts again by any chance

Roger | ive found that i can remove dust from the litte bigma by taking it into two parts then applying powerful suction ( henry vac on super suck) to the rear of the front part this sems to suck all the grot out of the lens assembly without having to completely disemble it
