Photo competition entries

I was just looking at the entries this morning and was amazed with the fact that throughout all the catergories there are only 14 entries (8 of those in the Close Up). Come on guys and gals, let's give these competition a lot more interest.

Stuart and his crew work hard on this forum and we can show a bit more effort on our part by taking part in these competitions. You don't have to be an expert as the catergories chosen are easy enough for you to gain acceptable images with even the most basic camera's so come on, let's see those entries flood in.

If you are not sure what to do read the sticky about the competition (in this Photography forum) and all will be revealed.

Sorry John, Stuart et al, but it's not a good time of year to go and get photographs, even though the evenings are getiing lighter. And I'm very busy at work. Maybe later in the spring.

Hi Henry

You don't have to take photos now (apart from the February catergory) as you can place a photo in any of the other catergories that you took ages ago. As long as it fits the criteria you can place a photo taken a few years ago into it if you like, so go for it.

The one I have entered in the close up catergory was taken last year.

True, except that I only bought my digital camera last year, and I haven't got a big collection of pictures to chose from!

I've just submited a few of my older images, hopefully it will generate a bit more interest in the competition.
It's just a bit of fun so lets see more people having a go.

Oop's!! Aren't we supposed to just pick one catergory each month and place one photo in that catergory, or have I got it wrong?

My interpretation was that February's was defined but the other catergories could be from whenever.

yep, you're right John. Only photos for the February category need to have been taken this month, all others could have been taken at any time - even old black and white from 40 years ago

I'll change some of the competition info to hopefully clarify it a bit.

Am I also right that you only select one catergory per month to enter?

No, what I meant to say was that everyone can submit as many photos as they like to all the categories, but any single photo can only be entered in one category and one competition. This is to avoid having the same photo entered in multiple categories or having it re-submitted next month, the month after that etc.
