Mega pixels
When buying a digital camera you can't escape the term 'mega pixels', and it's usually written in big, bright stickers on the front of the camera and in most camera adverts, showing off just how many 'mega pixels' the camera has got.
Generally speaking, with all other things being equal, if you have more mega pixels then you can make better quality larger prints. If you want to make an A3 size prints of your images then you'll probably need to look at cameras that are 8 mega pixel and above. However, if you're only going to view your images on a computer screen, then 3-4 mega pixels is often more than enough.
