The most important part of a digital SLR is the lens, often referred to as the glass. The better glass you have, the better quality of image will be produced. The best Canon lenses are referred to as ‘L’ lenses, costing from £300 upwards to over £10,000.
For wildlife a 100-300mm zoom is a good starter, but to get closer Sigma produce the 50-500mm ‘Bigma’ lens. This lens on a 350D is equivalent to 80-800mm which for wildlife is superb although the cost is around £750.
