| | New member to WAB Hello everyone,
I've just registered for WAB and have been looking through the photos and look forward to gaining knowledge and advice in the future. There are some lovely shots on this site. I am a very keen photographer, specialising mainly in landscapes. However, since I am very keen on what this country has to offer, in terms of wildlife, it seems the natural progression to start wildlife photography. So, I have just splashed out on a sigma 50-500 lens to use on my Canon 30D, so hopefully I will be able to post some good shots in the future (although, I feel I have a lot to learn about this area of photography). I look forward to communicating with you in the future and welcome any advice, thanks, Mark.
P.S. I live in the Northumberland area so does anyone recommend places I can test out my Bigma lens, for wildlife shots, in the near future. |

| | | Re: New member to WAB Hello Mark, hopefully we will get to see some of your landscape photography on the Gallery and very soon some of you wildlife shots. I won't be able to offer any photographic advice I'm in a very amature league but I do love looking at the galleries. Welcome to WAB and hope to see you around. |

| | | Re: New member to WAB Hi Mark and a warm welcome to WAB. Good choice of lens with the Sigma 50-500mm. There are quite a few of us on here who use this lens me included, as well as a Canon 400mm lens. Any questions or advice you want just post in the appropriate forum and I'm sure someone will reply. Enjoy the site

| | | Re: New member to WAB Might be good if someone can clarrify here for Mark and for me, when can a new member actually start posting photos onto the forum. I thought I read somewhere it was after 25 posts, but I have now past this figure and still don't seem to be able to attach any pictures. Maybe this question needs to be clarified a bit more in the FAQ section? Thanks!
PS: Mark....I have only been a member of this forum for a relatively short time and am already hooked! It is not only full of fantastic information and advice...there seems to be a genuine warmth and friendship between everyone posting. |

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can post photos after 25 posts, but it can take 24 hours for your permissions to be updated. So although you have more than 25 posts your permissions may not automatically have been updated to allow posting photos as yet.

Roger | thats my understanding too ollie - though i'm not sure it does automatically update I think stu or one of the mods has to change it manually which is why it can take 24 to 48 hours
tho that said *sudden thought* I didnt realise photos were restricted by the 25 post rule - i thought that applied to signatures as I am sure I have seen new members put photos up virtually as soon as they join
