Canon 500 & 600mm IS lens

The Canon 1.4x and 2x will not autofocus on the 100-400 but work fine otherwise.

The Kenko Pro 300DG 1.4x will autofocus if you tape the first three lens contacts the 2x will not autofocus.

My next "step up" is expensive glass.

What I would really like is the Sigma 300-800mm F5.6 - but alas it's 4 grand

Think I'll stick with wanting the Sigma 180mm macro - more within my price range!

Well Sigma make excellent lenses and their macro is one of them.

I have the Sigma 50mm EX DG Macro - great lens.

My 50-500mm "Bigma" is back with them for repair! The focusing died

I have a Bigma as well its a great lens that extra 100 mm over the 100-400 really helps.

I'm thinking of getting the Canon 400mm 2.8 prime lens, I already have the 2x converter so it will be a useful 800mm 5.6. Expensive but it will last a life time if you look after it , and it is your hobby is'nt it?
