| | | The cat issue.... I have invested in an electronic deterrent system, which has cut down the amount of poo in the garden drastically (although there is still the odd nugget left about occasionally... must be an old moggy). The thing that confuses me is the bones!!! I have found three in the last three weeks, each a good size (6" in one instance), and fresh, buried end on, as if pushed into the soil. The soil is heavy up here in Edinburgh so this must be done with some effort. We do get some really hefty foxes round here, i'm thinking that they may be the culprits. Anybody else had any similar experiences? |

| | | Re: The cat issue.... I've never known cats bury bones (more likely to leave them in your slippers) or eat the whole of anything large enough to have 6 inch bones. At one sitting a domestic cat can't eat much more than a mouse or vole equivalent. Sounds more likely to be a Fox. Unless you have pumas up there... |

| | | Re: The cat issue.... Must be a Fox. We have spotted a really dapper looking dog Fox several times at the bottom of the road, marking a lamp post just as a domestic dog would. Does not seem to be bothered by anything. He has great shape though, a lovely coat and is obviously very healthy (hence the 'hefty' tag). Some town foxes i've seen can be very scrawny things... but where are the bones coming from? You may be on to something Nightshade... there is a crematorium nearby! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
