Cheap rosa rugosa seeds or plants??

I've decided to grow some rambling rose along some of the bottom of my garden. Unfortunately I live in an area where robberies have gone up big time and I have a robber friendly ginnel running along at the back of my garden.
After reading up on the net, rosa rugosa is extremely spiney, so ideal for securing gardens from intruders, but it is also great for birds who enjoy nice big rosehips.
I was just wondering if anyone knew of anywhere that is selling seeds quite cheap? Or even small plants?

Ginnel? surely that means youre in lancashire somewhere?
You should easily find Rosa rugosa in your local garden centre, but cant remember what time of year they have it in, just ask them.
Its a cracking plant for warding off intruders as a barrier and has the most terrific scent, plus hips as you say.

I think the question put cost as an issue. I'm not sure that many Garden Centres sell bare root roses - that's the advantage of buying online - plants less than £1 each, even with delivery added, if you buy over ten.

I doubt that you'll find seeds for sale and I'm not too sure how succesful you would be with them .... but if you want to give it a whirl, go round and take some off of plants - it's the ideal time of year for it I would think?

they do bundles of 10 or 15 as a hedging plant, heeled together into soil, around that price too................
