| | | Rabbit squatter I have some chickens which I keep penned in with electric mesh. A few weeks ago a young wild rabbit moved in with them - and has been there ever since. I've tried switching the fence off and chasing him out a few times, but he just turns up again. He seems quite happy mixing with the chickens and they don't seem to mind him. I just wondered why this is happening. Are rabbits social animals? Is there any danger of him passing on disease/parasites to the chickens? He appears to have a Great Escape-type tunnel under the fence which I could fill in to keep him out - but that seems a bit mean. |

| | | Re: Rabbit squatter Thanks for that Faz. I hadn't thought about foxes. Looks like the rabbit's tunnel will have to go. |
