| | | Re: Garden Inspiration Required Thanks Susie,
2 beds stand in front of the chalet separated by steps in the middle which lead to a hallway, so that's where the plugs will go as atm looks unsightly compared to the rest of the garden, but I tended these beds to begin with as a moist meadow. Plans went to pot so to speak as my brother & I have been doing major work internally, now that's coming to a stop, we can now start a fresh, so now we can chillout and tend to the garden as we used too. Mainly it's a success already and I've planted allium purple sensation amongst common bistort to achieve a desired affect! I want to send some video clips via youtube as there are many wildflowers blooming amongst other flowers I bought to show how the garden grows generally, but the camera bought back in Jan has packed up will try again to get this resolved tomorrow!

| | | Re: Garden Inspiration Required As promised ,whether you want it or not, heres an update on the garden.
AS you can se from the pics there has been quite a bit of growth from those little plugs I put in Not everything has flowered yet but what has (hyssop,scabious,ox-eye,birds foot) have all gone down well with the insects. We have never had as many hoverflies and bees
Some "weeds" have been left to grow and have flowered well for themselves particularly Field Speedwell (loads of this-its lovely),nipplewort, scentless mayweed, and ground ivy(I think)
In the pond we have 3 Frogs, 1 adult Toad, 1 Smooth Newt (thought it was a lizard until the kind people on WAB put me right ),dozens of Great Pond Snail (the ones I introduced got on very well with each other),pond skater and loads of underwater life that I will try to get to grips with in due course.
Common Blue,Azure and Blue Tailed damselflies have visited regularly along with the occasional, fast, dragonfly.
Ringlet and Large Skipper Butterfly are a first for the garden along with more Gatekeepers than we have ever seen before
Can't wait for the rest to flower particularly the extra large (I pruned it to 4ft instead of 1ft like I normally do ) buddleia which always goes down well .
Thanks for your help and suggestions - particularly Jez whose knowledge is amazing -and I will probably be doing some alterations at the back through the winter when we've saved up!

| | | Re: Garden Inspiration Required Sounds and looks delightful but steady on compliments please! I think instead of ground ivy you have wild basil? I'm looking forward to see what plans you may have for the winter too!
All the best Jez

Did you see any damselflies mating yet?

| | | Re: Garden Inspiration Required No mating has been seen - we're not allowing anything like that in our garden
We live in hope - they have been landing on the lily pads so they feel at home
Thanks for the compliments!
Any new occupants and flowerings will be reported whether you want it or not
