| | | Fieldfare + Apples! Just how much apple can one Fieldfare pack away? .......
To keep the fruit on the tree and stop them being hidden under the snow, I bend a longish length of stiff wire (s/s filler rod), into a long 'U' shape. Pierce the apple at the stalk end, when the prongs exit the apple (hopefully) near the eye bend them in on themselves and hang the apple from a branch using the 'U' end, inverted.......
I've been sitting watching a Fieldfare packing it away for nearly an hour, taking time off to chase away the Starlings. He/she must have got an apple and a half down. Cheers, Tony. | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
