Advice: Ivy cuttings

Can anyone tell me the way to take Ivy cuttings and whens the best time to do so?

They have aerial roots Jez look along the stem for roots, you can layer them peg a couple of stems down in a pot of compost they will root really quick..

Yep, I planted a whole wall in variegated ivy just by taking bits off the main plant and pushing it in the ground, all that wall by the barrel was planted up a few yours ago from some Ivy that came in a plant pot as decoration from a garden centre.

Layering is definitely the way to do it - I've tried straight cuttings on a number of occasions with zero success. I don't think the time of year makes much difference, although obviously colder weather will inhibit the development of new roots.

Agree with CM and Kayleigh, every little nodule along that creeping stem is a potential root
