| | | Rescued from the pond I've hooked out many insects from the pond this year, and this is my latest one.
This little fella fell out of a tree and took a nose dive into the pond yesterday. It did nothing to try and save itself, just laid there looking hopeless and helpless. Found the photo quite disturbing in fact.
So I hooked him out and as he dried off I took a few shots of him and I do believe It's looking Alot happier.
I have looked in the insect identifier but I'm still unsure of it's i.d. Thanks |

| | | Re: Rescued from the pond Bush cricket? The only one I know is the speckled, so perhaps the speckles washed off! It does definately have a very bewildered look in the eye

perhaps it took it too literally! . . . . .
I wonder where that name came from - it's scarcely a coastal species . . . anyone have any ideas?
