| | | Hedges and Green Corridors It is that time of year again and the same exhortation Plant Native Hedging!
There are a lot of nurseries online that will sell you bare root hedging plants
You order now and they turn up in time to be planted in early spring, (my
personal opinion is if you use a wood burner you should be under a moral obligation to plant hedges and trees) plant them in a double row at a shallow angle and they will produce a beautifully thick hedgerow in time for birds such as Sparrows and other wildlife to use later in spring and summer.
Just locate your house on google earth and look where the green corridors are your new hedge will add to the mosaic giving aid and succor to birds, bats, beetles butterflies etc. enabling them to move to and from the remaining woodland and pastures and from backgarden, habitat to backgarden habitat
