| | | WAB 2009 Tallest Sunflower Competition? After the (sort of) success of last years tallest sunflower competition this is the new and improved 2009 comp, no prizes or anything just for a bit of fun and if nothing else the bee's, hoverflies etc will love you........
So anyone up for it then? I will be growing "Russian Giant" seeds which I have some spare so if anyone want's a few then PM your address and I will send you some. I've also noticed that there is a variety called "Kong" which might be worth a shot too!!!!!!!!

Is there an 'end' date or does it just continue until they've all stopped growing? |

| | | Re: WAB 2009 Tallest Sunflower Competition? I'd like to join in! Trouble is, the sunniest part of the garden is also the place which has the poorest soil.....heavy clay. Nothing except Acer likes it there! Still, if I stock up on chicken poo, everything should be ok, yes Stewy?
Perhaps I ought to have some of your seeds Stewy, and some of the Kongs from Robin, see which do best?
(I may also get my brother growing some in his garden )

Just a thought, but where do we measure up to? The top of the green stem or the top of the flower petals? |
