| | | Re: WAB 2009 Tallest Sunflower Competition? 3'6'', all 5 of them, must be a dwarf variety (is that PC?), but expecting a late spurt.
Cheers

| | | Re: WAB 2009 Tallest Sunflower Competition? My one survivor has managed 5ft so far but growth has slowed down a lot of late and it's looking a bit pitiful as it's been defoliated most of the way up the stalk. It's definitely not a winner in the beautiful plant stakes. My garden snails are pretty good climbers. |

| | | Re: WAB 2009 Tallest Sunflower Competition? Mine is just over 5' high, it seems to be liking all the rain we've had recently, and has responded by growing about 2" per day.
Hope it keeps going, although I can see the flower forming in the centre. |

| | | Re: WAB 2009 Tallest Sunflower Competition? Have had heavy rain over the last 24 hours with high winds lost some lowers stems on plants furthest from front door but main plant nearest door coming along a beauty, just had tape out standin at 10ft 3" high no sign of flower head yet at the top so some growing to go.
Plants under Sky Dish coming in at 9ft 7",
The circumferance of the stem at the 12" from bottom is 5 1/2 ins

| | | Re: WAB 2009 Tallest Sunflower Competition? Flowering now so I doubt that it will get much taller, can't get a decent measurement just yet as we have wood pigeons nesting in the grape vine right next to it and I don't want to disturb 'em.
