I used to do what my gran taught me come autumn and dance around the garden holding stems of delphiniums while singing 'We plough the fields and scatter'. LoL.
She assured me the seeds liked to choose their own place in the garden as there was certain plants they just didn't get along with.....Dear old gran, how I miss her.
But you know, she was right, for me they sprang up all over the place apart from where the marigolds were.

That sounds like a great idea. She sounds like she was a wise woman.
