| | | climbers to cover shed thread. Hello Way back in april this year I put a thread up to ask anyone if they could advise me on which quick growing climbers were best to plant at side of shed to go up and over. Well I did buy some, I got 3 virginia creepers all different varieties bought at 2 feet tall well they have now grown up the side which is 7 foot tall on to the roof to the peek, ready to go over the other side thats how well theyve done, so approx 13 feet since they were planted, thats a good growth in 4 months, ive had to tie the leaders every foot of the way up, ive watered them twice a day sometimes I put some tomato rite in the water can something has done them good. The shed is 12 X 8 and I wanted something to cover the bare wood, well it looks good now. I also put evergreen honeysuckle at one end , plus Ive got ivy between it all, im hoping next spring that I will have birds nesting in there, maybe the odd robin or wren or 2 . Plus ive put extra bird boxes about. Its beginning to look like a wildlife jungle about here

| | | Re: climbers to cover shed thread. I use Jasmine on my shed, just plant it, give it something to climb up like a trellis and watch it go! You sometimes have to remove bits that have got inside the shed but that's all. |

| | | Re: climbers to cover shed thread. I foolishly planted Russian Vine to cover a shed which it did, the problem was that it was a chore to keep it trimmed and after a two week holiday I came home to a shed full of vine and it was all through my neighbours trees as well
(looked terrific though)
