| | | Invisible Leak in Pond Hello
I've got a small wildlife pond in my garden (approx 1.5m diameter) made using a butyl liner. The trouble is it's developed an invisible leak about 10cm below where the water-line should be. As the hole in the liner is too small to see I'm unable to use a puncture repair kit on it. Any advice on how to fix it would be greatly appreciated by myself and the resident frog tadpoles.
Thank you! |

Obviously you would need to lower the pond water to a point some way below the leak level before you begin painting, but several coats over a 10 -20cm wide band may be enough to plug the leak.

| | | Re: Invisible Leak in Pond Perhaps you could allow the water to escape until the flow slows right down - then remove some more water and feel all round just above the water line - even a small hole would be felt. Clean the area well and apply a patch (repair kits are available online and do work).
Good luck |

| | | Re: Invisible Leak in Pond Thanks very much for your replies. I'll use a patch repair kit if I can locate the puncture, and, if not, I'll try the pond paint.
Cheers |

| | | Re: Invisible Leak in Pond Sorry everyone - my fault!
You'll be pleased to hear you're not going senile - I started a new thread on two forums, as I didn't understand how the site worked properly.
But I do now, so I promise not to cause any more mental health worries. |
