| | | re: Pond Supplies I just use Elodea in my pond. It's simple, it's cheap and is one of the best oxygenators there is.
Glad to see someone else building a pond. Still a long way to go before I see 1 in 4 gardens with a pond, rather than the 1 in 10 at present.
Don't forget the log piles, small stack of stones and dense grasses for the surround.

| | | re: Pond Supplies Elodea Canadensis Crispa has been a disaster in my pond
The pond is fairly large, and a natural one, with mud bottom etc
I just threw a few pieces into the pond at the beginning
It has since taken over completely, and this year I have had a most dreadful time pulling a lot of it out
If you use it in a natural pond I suggest you plant it in a planter to restrict its growth |

| | | re: Pond Supplies I have lots of Elodea Canadensis Crispa in mine. I just get the garden rake and pull the weeds/plants out at the end on Oct.
Mine is small pond and I have never had a problem with it. |

| | | re: Pond Supplies Thanks guys
The only problem with a pond like mine is the hard work involved in trying to keep things tidy
You can probably see that it is part of a Japanese style garden. As I get older (I am getting to the stage where, if I bend down, it is difficult to get up again ) I begin to dispair
Luckily Wonderwoman is a few years younger than I am and works hard to keep things in some sort of order
I will post some more pics as I get the time |
