| | | Re: Plant ID We've got a hedge of these, I think they're a species of box (buxus) but I'm not sure which type. Ours grow relatively slowly but need pruning each year.
p.s. Although as I wrote that I'm becoming less certain, sorry!

| | | Re: Plant ID Thanks Bub-les it does look like Lonicera nitida. I was going to plant it in the garden if it was a cotoneaster as they flower. But I will have a rethink about this. |

| | | Re: Plant ID It flowers too. They are like small honeysuckle flowers. Its just kept so cut back that it normally doesn't get a chance to flower.

Barbara | Do you know what time of year it flowers and if it's beneficial to wildlife/insects. |

| | | Re: Plant ID Looks much like a Cotoneaster but wouldn't like to put that down to species level. In my experience all cotoneaster flowers in summer produce nectar to attract bees and other animals. |

| | | Re: Plant ID Looks like a Cotoneaster to me too, though it has more closely spaced leaves than the one in my garden (maybe because it has been grown under cover). Nurseries tend to put "horizontalis" in planters.

Polly | I hope it is I have just the place for it..I will know soon enough as the cotoeaster will have small white flowers soon followed by red berries the birds will eat..
It will go in this bed to hang over the edge.. |
