Causal agent
• The fungus Botrytis cinerea (asexual state)
• Also known by the name of its sexual state:
Botryotinia fuckeliana < think this means u r definately fkd if u get this 
• Member of the Ascomycetes, class
Discomycetes, family Sclerotiniaceae
• Related to morels and other cup fungi

I was worried at first it was camellia blight, it looked remarkably similar. I followed information given on the internet and informed Defra.
I also e-mailed them a picture.
When the plant next flowered a horticultural officer came and took samples (he was in the area checking in on garden centres), the results came back as botrytis.
As the plants are reasonably small, and have no greenery around them, so I'm going to make a strong effort to get rid of it.
If I can't do it this season, then sadly I will have to burn them.
One of them is a lovely Jury's Yellow, which I have had for many years (in a pot) and has naturally grown into a standard style bush.
Thanks for the link.....and the laugh....it certainly feels like I'm 'fuckeliana'ed with it.
