| | | The sounds of mowing the lawn.. Well for the first time in over a week due to this lovely summer weather we have been having It was nice to be able to get out into the garden and cut the grass..This Bank holiday week end im starting to dig out a garden pond...So Im busy getting ready with cutting back some of the over grown bushes and low branches , it was no time at all till i could hear others doing the same. Funny how the sound of a mower starts this off..

Good luck with your pond juliejam, I made mine last year and it's full of all sorts of pond life, including froglets and some last minute taddies, well worth the hard work

| | | Re: The sounds of mowing the lawn.. I cut my grass yesterday and under the tree where i have the niger seed feeder..it was like a spring board where all the seeds have dropped and started growing.
I think i could use that patch as a trampoline

I've not been able to cut my grass for about 9 days, hope to cut it this weekend specially as it's not too long- we've had really bad weather the last week or so. The last time I cut it I had to repatriate 4 frogs to the pond - I was a nervous wreck by the time I'd finished mowing I was terrified of "getting" one of them. |

| | | Re: The sounds of mowing the lawn.. I had run out of petrol for my mower and our local garage was closed for the holiday. I biked there this morning with my can for filling; and found that I was one of three on the same mission. Obviously, we had all been affected by the awful weather - a combination of rain making the grass too wet to cut and helping it to grow - there must be a law or equation to reflect this?

jen xxx | How about putting a seed tray down filled with seed compost to catch the niger? You could have teazel a continium for the finches! | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
