flower again???

Hi
I have a rose-of-sharon and it has flowered but where the flowers have died there are buds inside...does this flower again??

I think you may be looking at the young fruits which are rather bud-like.

I nearly cut them off cause the flowers have gone brown then i saw the buds in the middle of where the flower is.
What happens to the buds now then??

Hi Jen,
I reckon Tiggrx is right, you're probably seeing the fruiting bits. I've not known Rose of Sharon to flower twice in one season.

Does anything eat these fruits do you know?

I have one of these by a wall in the front garden. I've never noticed anything taking the fruit.
All I can find out about it ,is that it is a native of Turkey.
The flowers are recommended for Bees, so that's a good thing - the Bees need all the help they can get.

Like Keith, I've never seen the fruits being eaten (or disappearing quickly either!)...
