Hiya!
Plant them in the ground straight off. In cold frame or under glass alittle later in the year.
Small varieties can be grown between long developing crops and this may also deter the dreaded Carrot Fly!
So at regular intervals and crop as needed or sow large varieties and store over winter in sand!

with my carrots (purple ones) ive sowed some seeds in a big bucket full of rich sandy compost make sure you dont disturb the soil as this will realease the carrot smell and carrot root fly will arrive
