| | | Otter head - (mixed media)
I thought I would share this illustration that I did several years ago before I got hold of a Digital camera and became totally obsessed with it at the expense of just about anything else. I did have a range of greetings cards which I sold through self employed agents (reps). If anyone is thinking of going down that road I could give you some advice as to how to proceed.
regards

It seems a shame that you don't find the time now, although I understand the photography bug....it takes over

| | | Re: Otter head - (mixed media) Hello Chrissy, it's not that I couldn't find the time. Being so self critical, which you need to be, somehow took the pleasure out of it and when it wasn't fun any more...... well time to move on and there is always people so much more talented. For the record, it was painted on illustrators art board mainly with gouache but also pencil over the gouache to achieve the detail. The background which is supposed to represent the "bokah" seen in photography was achieved by masking out the foreground, which was mainly finished at this point, with "frisk film", and then using watercolour applied with an airbrush. The finished illustration was used by Hanson White as a "Best Wishes" Greeting Card. |

I am not sure about the "there is always someone more talented" bit but can understand when it stops being fun......
