| | | Re: Enchanted trees A very memorable part of my childhood was at school,Infants, sitting around on the schoolroom floor, in a horseshoe sort of shape, listening to our teacher read an installment of 'The Faraway Tree'.This particular teacher read to us EVERY afternoon, it was lurvely, really 'MAGICAL' I can recall the feeling of wonder now, as I was an only child there was something comforting about being in that 'family' for a while before setting out alone to head for home.Sorry, gone off thread,Chrissie, but what I'm aiming at is ,have you
ever thought of putting a story to your images, and trying to get into print. Poe |

| | | Re: Enchanted trees Hi Posie, thanks for the lovely comments ....and I like topics to evolve. Much more fun that way
In fact I have not put a story to this image but I did do a christmas story together with an image last year called "The deerkeeper". In fact a few people at the time said I should expand upon it...
But, tbh, whilst it is probably one of my most popular blog posts of all time, I would need to work on both the fiction and the illustration and I am not sure that the basic product is good enough to start with.
Loripo, I did like the idea of light beams, they add a little magic, sometime I will have to have a go at another version. I loved my childrens stories and was an avid reader. I had a copy of the water babies but for the life of me, I cannot think who had illustrated it.

| | | Re: Enchanted trees My Auntie was 'friends' with our doctor and he used to give me wonderful books for Xmas and birthday. I've been looking for one recently. It was an Australian story about a girl and a willow patterned plate and all the illustrations were in shades of blue - that was magical too. I get ideas, but they sort of fizzle out

| | | Re: Enchanted trees Hi Pixee and Welcome...
It is always nice to be inspired by nature and the seasons, although sometimes the imagination goes one step further
Having just taken lots of bluebell images this week, I thought this one was quite appropriate.

| | | Re: Enchanted trees Your tree is lovely ChrissyMarie. Reminds me of a book I had as a child, where all the trees had faces (like your tree has windows). I remember the smell of the book to this day. I must go check out "Martin's faces in the winter tree".
The English Bluebell is my fave flower. We had bluebell woods all around us where I grew up, and the smell of them just thrills me. Apparently bluebells don't have an "essence", so you can't get reall bluebell scent. Such a shame.
