| | | Music with a Wildlife theme? I sometimes put collections of my photos onto DVD and add a musical background. Ive been trying to find music that suits, like Vaughan Williams Lark Ascending. I also love 'Cantus Arcticus' which has migrating swans as part of the piece. Any others suggestions? Classical or Pop... |

| | | Re: Music with a Wildlife theme? Albatross - Fleetwood Mac (a classic, if not classical )
Pretty Flamingo - Manfred Mann
Peter and the wolf - Prokofiev
That's just for starters, I'm sure I could dredge a few more out of the sump that is my mind

| | | Re: Music with a Wildlife theme? Continuing the birds theme there is The Birds Suite by Respighi (for the really old, this introduced the BBC antiques programme Going For a Song); for something gentler, On Hearing the First Cuckoo in Spring by Delius; also The Cuckoo by Daquin YouTube - Louis-Claude Daquin: Le Coucou (The Cuckoo)
For insects you have The Wasps overture by Vaughan Williams. For something more astringent there is The Grasshopper and The Wasp by Benjamin Britten. Not quite the thing for a musical background though... YouTube - Two insect pieces Britten |

| | | Re: Music with a Wildlife theme? I didnt think I'd heard the spider song, but I remember the snapping turtle!
That would be quite a photographic feat that selection of birds/beasts.
Also I knew the music to Lark in the clear air - I found a lovely harp version of it too but I didnt know the lyrics.
This has been really useful as I tend to get bogged down with classical. |

| | | Re: Music with a Wildlife theme? 'Nightingale Chorus' from Handel's 'Solomon'. I've never heard a nightingale, but I'll recognise it when I do because of this piece of music!
'On Hearing the First Cuckoo' by Delius.
