| | | Photography or art? I'm not sure if digitally altered photos count as art as most I've looked at seem to be 'proper' art. Comments please |

| | | Re: Photography or art? Art is the expression of imagination and/or skill with an intent to appeal to the senses. So yes, it is art |

| | | Re: Photography or art? I like the second - it looks like a "real" photo until you look closer. The gulls also work well against the background - they stand out well and the background has just enough bluriness |

| | | Re: Photography or art? Art can encompass so many things. A photo, unaltered in anyway, can be a work of art, and a photo manipulated and altered can also be a work of art. I like your two - they each make me look at them and cause me to think about them, so if that's what you want to achieve...... |

| | | Re: Photography or art? Thanks both, some of the photos in the Gallery are so superb I just want to gaze at them. These are rubbish as phots but the special effects seemed to transform them - I might go mad and have one printed on canvas |

| | | Re: Photography or art? My opinion or others does not really matter an iota, since our days of living in semi detached caves we have progressed from hand paintings ( though we still do it today cause it is FUN)to the use of computer graphics, every few moments in our short existence some one has come up with a new medium of communication and we use it.....do what you enjoy, if you have pleasure from it then it is great.
Well done and enjoy doing more, playing with art is a great joy.
Do more and be even more abstract Loripo, great fun!!
All the best.
Martin

| | | Re: Photography or art? Thanks Martin, I do enjoy it. Used to try scraper board and oil paints at one time. I'd like to do watercolours but never quite get the effect I'd like. I have a few modern etchings and seem to have ended up with trees, fish and butterfllies and one of a waterfall in the Lake district - that must say something about me There are some beautiful lino cuts and wood carvings in the Library images. Maybe I'll post a couple more of mine. I live in a high rise cave - only wall paintings I've done are Dulux! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
