| | | Wood carvings Don't know if anyone else collects this stuff but we're a great fan of Bruno Charron's wood carvings, mainly of birds. These are the three we've currently got:
He's based near Swanage, Dorset, and I think has a website though doesn't sell from home anymore, items are available in shops in Swanage though, he uses locally found storm-damaged woods. OK the birds are a bit stylised but I like them |

| | | Re: Wood carvings Very nice RobinP. Just to honour the thread I took my little Nuthatch into the garden this morning in the rain and gloom. He's carved from pine, very tactile and sits on my desk top keeping his beedy eye on me! |

| | | Re: Wood carvings they are all lovely, I really like wood carvings of birds very tactile.
There used to be a talented carver who brought his work (usually in the dform of walking sticks) to a craft market in Ciren though I couldn't quite afford it!
I always thought they'd make gorgeous door handles rather than the boring old knobs found on most doors.... |

They're meant to be Bitterns, but could be Guillemots or something similar I guess. The others are Swallow (hmm...) and Wren.
Yes they are lovely to look at, there are more on his Quarr Gallery website (no I'm not on commission!).
