After looking throughout the Gallery at one of my favourite little Birds the Puffin..I decided to Draw a portrait..

Another lovely drawing Julie - keep them coming

The light is gorgeous behind the bird, and the texture of its feathers looks like velvet.

I went out and bought a half price sketch kit - it contained very interesting pencils and things.

Can you tell me which materials you used for this artwork? E.g what sort of pencils etc?

Cheers Deer boy and Galanthus..Ive always loved these little birds..At first i didnt feel that it would work that well with out the use of colour..especially for the birds beak..but adding the little fishes i feel made up for this..

It has done Julie, they add that sparkle and they are drawn so well that they make the image come truly to life. Expression is spot on, well from the photos I have seen of them it portrays the bird so well .

I agree with all that's been said on this Julie. You have done a great job. The detail that you have managed to portray is fantastic even down to the fish eyes. Expression on the bird is spot on
