Just had another look at it , dont know where all that shiny stuff is coming from it must be the camera flash , dont like that at all ...never mind, when I finish it i might try a better shot.

| | | Re: Barn owl hunting Hi Annmaria ...
It looks pretty good to me ... I know the temptation to "faff" around with a picture is sometimes almost impossible to resist (done it myself) ...
I usually leave it for a few days .. then go back & have a good, hard look before doing anything .. I've also heard that it can be useful to view your picture through a mirror .. or look at it upside down .. because the human eye is accustomed to seeing objects in a familiar "format" .. when it views something from a different perspective .. it tends to "pick-up" on irregularities etc ..
Would I be correct in thinking that the tube paints at the bottom are Acrylics ? ... if the surface "shine" remains .. you could always spray the finished work with an Acrylic "matt" varnish ..
Bye for now ..
Kev ..

Seriously I do appreciate any and all advice. Looks like another trip to Hobby craft for matt varnish, just in time actually as my can is gloss, oh lord.
Cheers

| | | Re: Barn owl hunting Don't mention "Hobby Craft" .. visited the branch in Gloucester recently & spent a fortune ... (kid in sweet shop syndrome) ...
Luckily .. there isn't a branch anywhere near me ...
Bye for now ..

I think your painting is wonderful as it is.
If you do want to add to it, have you thought about a moon or stars in the background maybe
