| | | Re: The Lookout Hi Annmaria,
I would post them except they're not "wildlife" related .. so where would I put them ? ...
And the fact that being larger than A4 they didn't scan particularly well .. leaving some "shadowing" .. which rather spoils the overall effect ...
I actually did these particular pictures using Derwent "Inktense" pencils .. which if you haven't tried them are brilliant .. They're solid sticks of ink which can be thinned to "wash" consistency, then once dried you can apply another colour on top without damaging or disturbing the base coat .. they can also be applied much like normal watercolours .. a very versatile medium ...
Bye for now ..
Kev ..

| | | Re: The Lookout Hi Kev , will try those pencils , thank you for the tip.
My art work is just a glorified hobby , although when I get more time I intend to learn as much as possible, maybe an art course......drives me crazy being a jack of all trades master of none.
Cheers

| | | Re: The Lookout Thanks Martin .. you're very kind ..
Julie .. I painted this some time ago, I think before "Inktense" became available .. your kind words are much appreciated though ..
I do have some more recent work, done almost entirely in "Inktense" pencils .. A matching pair of a Samurai warrior dressed in robes & a pair of Japanese ladies in traditional dress .. plus a mounted Roman General in full armour .. my problem is that they're larger than A4 .. so they haven't scanned very well ..
Wish I had access to, or knew somewhere with a bigger scanner really ..
Bye for now ..
Kev ..
