| | | Snow Leopard.( work in progress). If this works i'll be amazed.
I am nervously posting my first picture on WAB. Unfortunately its unfinished but as i've been enjoying everyone else's work i thought it fare to post something of mine.
The full painting is of a mother and cub but there is alot of work to do yet. I'll post the finished image when its done . I hope you enjoy it,. i've enjoyed painting such a beautiful animal.

| | | Re: Snow Leopard.( work in progress). Stunning work. . . I wish i could paint. The only thing I can paint is a door and that I do badly, according to my wife.
The eyes are fabulous. They really drew me in. So realistic. Looking forward to seeing the finished pic. . .

| | | Re: Snow Leopard.( work in progress). I must admit in the thread looking at the thumbnail i thought...oh here we go... im going to open it and see yet another tasteless monstrosity...but WOW...those eyes are spot on !....amazing detail and certainly mesmerising...well done you ! i cant wait to see it finished with the fur softening.
having written a large assignment on the plight of the snowleopard which scored me good marks im very interested in them (and having travelled a lot in the nepalise and Tibetan Himalaya)..such a wonderful animal...
My other big interest ( i have to do a presentation on this week) is our rarest most endangered UK carnivore...the Scottish Wildcat....there are some stunning photographic images out there...maybe a future painting?

| | | Re: Snow Leopard.( work in progress). Wow thanks to all for your very kind comments, it certainly is encouraging. I'll look forward to posting the final image as soon as....
i would love to paint a Scottish Wildcat one day & i'm sure i will. I saw my first one last year, it crossed the road very early one morning, in the highlands and disappeared into the forest gloom, silently seeming to melt into its surroundings ....Its these sort of experiences what inspire me to paint.
One day i hope to do a series of paintings of Scottish wildlife, having lived there for a couple of years & taking most of my holidays up there i just love the landscape at distance + the mosses and the lichens up close which i love to paint.
Having a full time job does make this difficult as each painting takes a long time to complete, i will dig out some of my finished paintings and post them soon, again having such positive feedback does encourage me so it will be interesting to see what you have to say, thankyou. AL.

| | | Re: Snow Leopard.( work in progress). You are a very lucky man !
I think it would be important to record your sighting as part of the new Scottish Wildcat Survey which has recieved a lot of media coverage recently due to their only being around 400 true Wildcats left.
if you can remember ANY details of your sighting, place, rough date etc...then fill it in on this electronic form and do your bit for the conservation of these stunning rare creatures. Scottish Wild Cat Survey Form
