Have you considered using a small photo softbox to photograph your work?
It would allow you to isolate the subject, remove distracting external objects and allow you to experiment with lighting.
Keep posting your art, I think it's great.

| | | Re: other view, firecrest Thankyou very much for your advice, I was thinking if i get enough together a professional photographer might do the lot in one go ( be too much if he charged for each bird separate , I will look up info about photo soft box  ). I know this sounds odd but when I look at them they often look better than the photo ( apart from the odd disaster )

You can pick up a softbox for less than £10.00.
I bought one from Maplins, which has a 2 colour reversible background cloth, it does a great job.
It may work out less expensive than hiring a pro photographer and would be available for future use.
