| | Volunteering Herts/Essex Border Hi,
Over the past few years I have been on a number of conservation working holidays carrying out surveys and spent my Sundays volunteering at the local zoo for just over a year.
I would dearly like to get involved in something in my local area - I'm thinking either wildlife rehabilitation or wildlife surveys, that kind of thing. I have contacted my local wildlife trust (got an out of office reply until Wednesday), but I was hoping that someone here might be able to suggest any other organisations for me to contact.
I live in East Hertfordshire near the Essex border. Google suggests my local area is sadly lacking...
Any suggestions gratefully received!

| | | Re: Volunteering Herts/Essex Border If you live in the south-east Herts area there are always volunteering opportunities in the Lee Valley Park.
If you are in north-east Herts (or for anyone anywhere in the country who wants to get involved with surveying wildlife) then there are plenty of county/national recording schemes that you could get involved with, you just need to decide what you want to survey and then find the appropriate recording scheme. What do you think that you would be most interested in surveying?
For wildlife rehabilitation I would think that you would need to find somewhere in the area that does that sort of think and then contact them directly to ask how you could help.
