| | Calling all Rangers! Hi,
I was hoping any rangers out there could give me some advice!
I have finally got an interview for a ranger position at a fantastic reserve and was wanting a rough idea of the types of interview questions I may be asked so I can prepare a bit better for it which would help settle my nerves!
Any advice or tips would be much appreciated!! |

| | | Re: Calling all Rangers! Hey
It depends on the reserve really, type of habitats, management already in place, wildlife there, activities and public access etc etc....
I would read up about the reserve itself and research anything you don't know or are rusty on in relation to the site!
Expect questions on practical work, public relations, health and safety, identification abilities....to name a few...
Good luck! |

| | | Re: Calling all Rangers! Sorry if this is a bit late but here's a sample of how things could go:
"Why have you applied for this job?"
"What is your greatest strength...and weakness?"
"What skills/attributes would you bring to the existing team?"
"Tell me how you would plan and then lead a simple conservation volunteer task?"
"How would you assure quality in your work?"
"Can you tell me how you would handle XXX (difficult situation e.g. aggressive youths/off road motorcyclists)?"
"What do you understand by equal opportunity? How do you think it is applied in the workplace?"
Good luck, Mike. |
